Flights were backed-up for hours at the Richardson International Airport Saturday afternoon, when a landing-gear failure stranded a small plane at the intersection of two runways.

Airport officials say the King Air 100 plane was stuck in a central location which blocked both arrival and departures, delaying virtually all flights at the airport.

The Sky North flight became stranded as it was attempting to leave Winnipeg for Island Lakes at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

The plane was finally moved at about 1:00 p.m., but it took several more hours to reschedule affected flights.
