Seems just about every year it goes up, but this year the price you pay for natural gas is going down.

Starting Feb. 1, 2009 Centra Gas customers will see a reduction in rates of 4.5 percent.

To the average homeowner that is a $57 yearly saving.

The Public Utilities Board approved the decrease earlier this month.

Larger consumers like businesses will see a reduction range between 4.9 and 6.6 percent.

The next review will take place in May of this year.

Despite market volatility the Public Utilities Board says it does not expect more major price changes in the immediate future.
