The Winnipeg Humane Society is asking the public to bring in donations of cat litter. There are 374 cats depending on The WHS for food, water and care. Tomorrow, that number will increase. The inflow of cats is constant at the shelter, so WHS staff says it is crucial to always have a stable supply of litter on hand.

"If we have cat litter donated to us, then we can save thousands of dollars each year, and put that money toward other animal care. This is something the public can do, and likes to do for us," said Bill McDonald, WHS Executive Director.

"We are also looking for a commercial supplier to sponsor our litter supply as we have not had one for several years and have had to purchase all our cat litter," adds McDonald.

Litter is cleaned and changed on a daily basis in order to keep every animal healthy and happy. Both clumping and non-clumping types can be used, and would be welcome.
