RCMP have searched the home of one of the last men seen with Amber McFarland before and on Wednesday they were back for another look.

The RCMP Forensic Unit seemed focused on the backyard of the Portage la Prairie home.

Officers will not say what they are looking for, but just that new information has led them there.

RCMP are now calling the case a murder investigation.

The 24-year-old McFarland went missing in October.

She was last seen leaving a Portage la Prairie nightclub.

Amber's mother Lori McFarland got a call early Wednesday morning from the Mounties telling her officers were searching the property yet again.

All this time without any information has been hard on Amber's family.

"We want some answers. We miss her," Lori McFarland said.

She is hoping this is the week that they get a better idea of what happened to Amber.

They say eight months is too long to wait.
