The Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics Service says last weekend was their busiest ever for medical calls.

Both paramedics in ambulances and those who ride on fire trucks responded to more than 300 calls on Friday and another 300 on Saturday -- all related to people with suspected severe cases of H1N1 flu virus.

Paramedics were taking precautions in responding to calls by wearing gowns, gloves, and masks.
