A 19-year-old man is in police custody facing 60 charges relating to allegations of sexual abuse involving youth over a span of more than six years.

Manitoba RCMP began investigating a complaint on August 9.

In a statement, RCMP said investigators identified 11 victims, all boys between the ages of eight and 14.

Police say the alleged offences occurred between 2002 and July, 2009.

A 19-year-old man is facing a total of 60 charges, including:

  • Sexual Assault, 21 counts
  • Sexual Interference, 19 counts
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching, 11 counts
  • Administer a Noxious Thing, 5 counts
  • Forcible Confinement, 2 counts
  • Juvenile Prostitution, 1 count
  • Indecent Exposure, 1 count

Police did not release the man's name.
