Two teenagers have been charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of a man on Aug. 11, 2009.

The teen boys, who were 15 and 17 at the time of the incident, allegedly shot Scott McGillivray, 26, outside a residence in the 400 block of Flora Avenue just before 2 a.m., said police.

McGillivray was outside a home having a cigarette when he encountered the suspects. He was shot in the upper body and was taken to hospital in critical condition where he later died, said police.

Officers said that the suspects also robbed another home in the 400 block of Flora Avenue, prior to shooting McGillivray. Five people inside the home were forced to the floor at gunpoint, while the suspects ransacked the residence and later fled with a purse. After the robbery, they encountered McGillivray and allegedly shot him.

Both suspects face a range of charges including murder, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to comply with a sentence.

The teens are in custody.
