Winnipeg police have released sketches of two male suspects allegedly involved in the sexual assault of a woman at around 5 a.m. Monday.
The victim was waiting for a cab in the 100 block of Mayfair Place. She was approached by two unknown males who offered her a ride home, which she accepted.
The suspects then drove the woman to an unknown area where they physically and seriously sexually assaulted her, according to officers.
She was then let out of the vehicle in the 1600 block of Corydon Avenue where she contacted police.
The victim was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The first suspect was the driver of the vehicle. He is described as a clean shaven man, East Indian in appearance, between 20-25 years old, five feet seven inches (170 cm) in height and weighing 160 pounds (72 kg). He has a muscular upper body, short dark hair and was wearing a white sweater, blue jeans and white shoes.
The second suspect was the passenger in the vehicle. He is described as a clean shaven man, East Indian in appearance, aged between 20-25 years. He has short dark hair, is five feet five to five feet six inches (165 cm to 167cm) in height with a slim build. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt over a white shirt and blue jeans.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a newer model two-door silver car with a black leather interior. It looks similar in appearance to a Mercedes Benz.
The investigation is being conducted by the Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
