Two suspects are in custody after allegedly going on a robbery spree and then stealing a man's car before ditching it and fleeing inside Health Sciences Centre on Monday.
Winnipeg police say a man armed with a firearm robbed a victim of personal property in the 700 block of Elgin Avenue, and later two people were confronted by an armed man in in the 600 block of Portage Avenue Monday morning, said police. The suspect fled the scene without incident.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., two suspects, one armed with a firearm, robbed a man of cash in the 300 block of Portage Avenue.
About four hours later, an armed suspect car jacked a 55-year-old man and then fled in the vehicle with a second suspect, said police.
Police then spotted the stolen vehicle in the 700 block of Logan and chased it. The suspects ditched the vehicle and fled inside Health Sciences Centre.
One of the men was apprehended by hospital security, while the second suspect was caught later by officers around 4:15 p.m. None of the victims were injured, said police.
Justin Michael Henderson, 20, of Winnipeg faces multiple charges including three counts of robbery with a firearm and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm, along with other offenses.
