Convicted sex offender Brock Golden has received a reduced criminal sentence on child pornography charges.
Brock Golden, the son of former Winnipeg city councillor and mayoral candidate Al Golden, was sentenced to 30 months in prison last year. On Thursday, a Court of Appeal reduced it to 18 months, calling the original sentence "unduly long."
Brock Golden was convicted for filming teen girls performing sexual acts on him in a hotel room in April 2005, according to court documents.
He has been freed on bail while he waited for an appeal.
He will also receive credit for the time he spent in custody after he was sentenced.
