A woman had her purse stolen but wasn't injured after being robbed in Winnipeg during the Tuesday noon hour.
She was walking in the 300 block of Portage Avenue when she was approached from behind by an unknown male who grabbed her arm, according to officers.
Police say the suspect demanded her purse and said he had a knife.
Police say the suspect is a man in his thirties who is aboriginal in appearance. He is about 180 pounds (81.6 kg) and 5'10'' (177 cm) with an average build. He has long dark hair that was worn in a ponytail or braid on the night of the incident. He was wearing a red and white long-sleeved checkered shirt, dark blue jeans, and white shoes.

When possible, travel in pairs or with a group
Carry a personal alarm and carry it in plain view
