Two convenience store clerks are recovering after being assaulted with pepper spray on Thursday night.
Police were called to the 800 block of Ellice Avenue just after 7 p.m.
Officials say two men walked into the 7-11 store with their faces covered and threatened the store clerks with pepper spray. Both workers were sprayed before the alleged suspects fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
Emergency crews treated the victims at the scene.
A second 7-11 store in the 1300 block of Main Street was held-up just a few hours later. Police say a man armed with a knife walked into the store close to 11 p.m. and confronted the lone employee.
The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee was not injured.
Investigators do not believe the two incidents are linked at this time.
