Slippery roads contributed to at least 12 accidents within two hours Friday morning, say police.
Fluctuating temperatures have taken a toll on roads along the Perimeter Highway as well as other highways near Oakbank, Stonewall and Selkirk.
In one case, three people were taken to hospital after two vehicles crashed into each other about a mile east of Highway 59.
A Ford truck was traveling east on Garven Road when it collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was heading west.
Police say they had to extricate the driver and the passenger in the SUV, both 45-years-old.
They, along with the 51-year-old driver of the Ford, went to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Frost on the road partially led to this accident, say officers.
The matter is still under investigation.
Police are urging motorists to be more careful when driving, and to slow down when highways are slippery.
