Manitoba Progressive Conservative leader Hugh McFayden galvanized party members at the annual general meeting Saturday.
"There is a great mood in the room, he said.
McFayden says Gary Doer's decision to step down as premier has given the party a renewed sense of optimism about it's chances in the next election.
"We've been working hard internally to get ready, buying into the changes taking place and are excited about what our party has to offer," McFayden explained.
The meeting also addressed issues regarding the economy, crime and health care.
