The province has announced that the H1N1 flu shot will now be available at doctors' offices.

Officials hope that by having the vaccine readily available at physicians' offices more people will get the shot in the coming weeks.

Nearly 30 per cent of Manitobans have been vaccinated against the virus so far, say officials.

Manitoba's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joel Kettner says more Manitobans are being diagnosed with the illness during the second wave, but fewer are seeing severe symptoms. Kettner says, however, that people should not become complacent.

People can contact their family doctor about getting the H1N1 shot, or can visit one of the vaccine clinics being run by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority until Dec. 11.
