Heated text messages led to a group fight on new year's day.
Police say three men and a woman went to a home in the 800 block of Grosvenor Avenue near Lilac Street, where a man was sending angry text messages.
Two men attacked the 25-year-old resident. He was stabbed and had serious but non life-threatening injuries. He is in stable condition.
A 28-year-old man was also sent to hospital in critical condition.
A third man, 27, had stab wounds and was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
CTV has learned one of the people injured was slashed from his neck to his torso.
No one else was injured.
Robert Gilchrist of Winnipeg, 27, is facing various weapons and assault charges. He is in police custody.
A 27-year-old man and 25-year-old woman are facing assault charges. Both suspects were released on a promise to appear.
