A 16-year old boy is facing attempted murder charges after an argument turned ugly.

The suspect was at a home in the 500 block of Balmoral Street around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday when he became involved in a dispute with his brother.

The victim who does not want to be named tells CTV news it started after he asked his brother to remove his dirty shoes while inside their grandmother's home.

The argument escalated and the 27-year old man was shot with a 9 mm handgun at close range. The bullet traveled through the man's body and ended up in a wall inside the home.
