RCMP have made an arrest in the death of a 17-year-old girl from Ebb and Flow First Nation at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The suspect was involved in a relationship with the teen, say RCMP.

Officers received a complaint about a stabbing at a home. They arrived on the scene to find the victim, Sandi Lynn Malcolm, badly injured and unresponsive.

Emergency crews arrived shortly afterwards and tried to revive her.

She later died from her injuries.

Two other women, 24 and 26, were also injured during the incident.

Ronald Joseph Racette Jr., 19, has been charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm. He is from Ebb and Flow First Nation.

He was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant following a previous violent incident involving Malcolm.

Racette is in police custody and will appear at the Dauphin Provincial Court on March 1.

An autopsy will be done at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.

RCMP units from Winnipeg, Brandon and Dauphin are investigating.
