Volunteers are still searching for a 14-year-old boy who hasn't been seen in seven weeks.

Tyler Arkinson was last seen at a house party on Sagkeeng First Nation, about 10 km northwest of Powerview-Pine Falls, on March 21.

By the end of March, RCMP ended their search, but police say they are still looking into Arkinson's disappearance as a missing person investigation.

"We're looking everywhere we're looking through containers we're looking through old vehicles… you name it we've been combing everything," said Paul Guimond, a relative of the boy.

Volunteers from surrounding communities have also come to help search, and some now believe foul play was involved.

Joselyn Hagedorn is from Little Black River First Nation and says she hopes Arkinson is found for the sake of his family.

"He's just a little boy and the family needs closure," she said.

"They're not sure what happened to him at all, so we're just looking for anything that looks suspicious, some clues, maybe, hopefully," she added.

Searchers said a bloody blanket was found a few weeks ago and they are now waiting on DNA testing.

However, RCMP will not confirm if a bloody blanket was found. Police are only saying that as searchers continue looking, they have come across articles of clothing and other items.

Now police are investigating if those items are connected to Arkinson's disappearance.

RCMP are also considering sending a dive team in to search a local river, police said.
