A suspect has been charged with manslaughter following an incident at an Okay Groceries store in September.

Geraldine Beardy, 29, was assaulted after allegedly shoplifting a can of meat from the store in the 900 block of Sherbrook Street, said police. She died a few days later from injuries, said police.

The store's owner was arrested following the incident in September.

Kwang Soo Kim, 62, has now been formally charged with manslaughter, said police on Thursday.

Investigators are interested in speaking with a female customer who was in the store at the time of the incident in September. Police said she can contact them at 986-6508, or Crime Stoppers at 786-8477.
