The family of a Winnipeg man who has been missing for more than 10 months is appealing to the public for help.

Corinne Staple said her family is still looking for her brother, Brent Staple, who was last seen in late June of 2009.

"When I'm having a hard moment, I used to call him, and he was like my rock and he's not there anymore," Corinne Staple said.

A surveillance video, taken just after 6 p.m. on June 28, 2009, shows Brent Staple leaving his Summerland apartment building with an older man who walked with a distinct limp.

Brent Staple is seen carrying two bags.

On Friday, Corinne Staple released new information about her brother to the public, saying that sexual photos of men were found on his computer.

However, she said she doesn't know if that had anything to do with her brother's disappearance.

"It's starting to get scary because almost a year has come up and are we ever going to find him? Is he ever going to come home?" Corinne Staple said.

The family has hired private investigator, Ken Cameron, who said it was strange that no one has come forward to identify the older man with the limp.

"Somebody knows this guy, somebody knows him and has to come forward," Cameron said.

Some tips have come forward, including a possible sighting of the older man at a Winnipeg retail store, Corrine Staple said.

Anyone with information about the disappearance of Brent Staple or the man seen in the surveillance video is asked to call the missing persons unit at 986-6250.
