Winnipeg is among five cities confirmed for the Queen's upcoming tour of Canada, said the Prime Minister's Office.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, will be in Winnipeg on July 3.

The royal couple will also visit Halifax, Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo and the Ottawa region.

The upcoming trip will mark the Queen's 22nd tour of the country. She last visited Winnipeg in 2002 and was last in Canada in 2005 when she visited Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The itinerary for the upcoming royal tour is being developed with municipalities and provinces, with full details to be announced at a later date, said officials.
