Police have identified the man whose body was found in the Red River on Saturday. Officers said an autopsy is pending, but police do not suspect that foul play led to the man's death.

Boaters saw what appeared to be clothes in the water, but then realized they had found a body.

There appeared to be duct tape binding the legs of the body when it was removed from the water, but police would not comment on that aspect of the investigation.

The boaters called police on their cell phone at about 10:15 a.m.

Officers, including a water rescue crew, then arrived at the Red River just north of the Chief Peguis Trail, where they recovered the body of an adult man.

Police are continuing to investigate.
