Two male teenage suspects face charges following a residential break-in and a home invasion in northwest Winnipeg.

On Sept. 5, suspects entered a home around 9:30 p.m. in the first 100 block of Filkow Bay and confronted three occupants inside.

One of the suspects set off a can of bear spray at the victims while a second suspect stole a purse, said police.

Both suspects then fled. Medical personnel were called and the victims were treated for injuries.

On Sept. 9, the two suspects tried to break into a home in the 1400 block of Jefferson Avenue, but a witness saw them and called officers. The residents were woken up by the disturbance and the suspects left the scene.

About 15 minutes later, the suspects entered a home in the 100 block of Councillor Bay through an unlocked back door.

The two suspects stole cash and property worth approximately $4,000, said police. Officers saw the suspects leave and managed to recover most of the stolen property, but the suspects managed to get away.

On Sept. 20, police arrested a 15-year-old male on Selkirk Avenue and a 14-year-old male on Flora Avenue for the incidents.

Both teens face charges for three counts of break and enter, robbery with intent and possessing an unauthorized weapon, said police.
