Police have arrested a suspect in a murder in God's Lake Narrows First Nation in northeastern Manitoba.

Officers were called to a residence in the area around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 and found a deceased woman.

On Saturday, officers released the identity of the victim, 44-year-old Flora Ann Trout of God's Lake Narrows, and announced the arrest of 46-year-Joseph Ben Ross. Police said it is believed the two were in a relationship.

Ross has been charged with manslaughter.
