A man armed with a metal bar robbed two convenience stores on Tuesday, said police.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Keenleyside Street around 2:30 a.m. after a store was robbed.

A male suspect armed with what resembled a metal bar demanded cigarettes from two clerks, said police. The suspect received a quantity of cigarettes and fled the store.

About 45 minutes later, police were called to the 900 block of Rue Archibald. The male suspect had entered the store while armed with a metal bar and once more demanded cigarettes, said police.

The suspect fled with an amount of cigarettes.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

The suspect is described as a male, aboriginal in appearance, in his mid to late thirties, approximately five feet six inches tall (167 cm), with a smaller build, dark hair, brown eyes and freckles on both temples.
