Police have a suspect in custody after a woman was robbed in the early hours of Saturday morning in the 800 block of Leila Avenue.
The suspect confronted the 32-year-old victim as she was leaving a restaurant in the area. He concealed his identity and was armed with a weapon when he grabbed the victim's purse, assaulted her in lower body and fled, police said.
Police, including members of the canine unit, located the suspect in the back alley of the 2100 block of McPhillips Street and arrested him.
The victim's property was recovered. She received minor injuries in the attack.
A 20-year-old male suspect has been charged with numerous offences including robbery with a weapon.
