Police have laid numerous charges against 13-year-old suspect who is accused of firing a gun at 51-year-old man after attempting to rob him.

Officers said their investigation found that a 13-year-old suspect attempted to rob the victim in the 600 block of Aberdeen Avenue around noon on Nov. 24.

During the robbery, the youth suspect pointed a gun at the victim, but the victim turned and walked away, officers said. At that point, the victim heard a clicking sound and turned to see the suspect loading a gun. The victim fled and a shot was fired in his direction, police said.

At about 1:10 p.m., police located and arrested the suspect in the area. During their investigation, officers seized a gun.

The 13-year-old male suspect has been charged with numerous offences, including robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm and discharging a firearm with intent to wound, maim, or disfigure as well as failing to comply with an undertaking and failing to comply with a sentence.
