OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Safeway stores are urging people allergic to peanuts to not consume certain granola bars.

The affected product is the 364-gram Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Value Packs, which were recalled on Nov. 24.

The agency says the bars may have been distributed through Safeway stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.

The value packs were recalled because they may contain Quaker brand Dipps granola bars that have peanuts.

The agency says one person became ill from eating a granola bar that potentially came from a mislabelled Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Value Pack.

Canada Safeway is recalling the affected product from its shelves.
