Police are investigating robberies at four fast-food restaurants that occurred on Saturday night.

Just before 7 p.m. Saturday, a suspect threatened the cashier at the A&W in Osborne Village with a knife. He fled after receiving cash, police said.

Police said the suspect a white man, about six feet (182 centimetres) in height, with large build, in his mid- to late-30s, with scruffy facial hair.

About two hours later, a suspect or suspects entered the A&W on Main Street near Red River Boulevard. A suspect was armed with a silver handgun. He also fled after receiving cash.

Police have not released a description of the suspect or suspects in this incident.

Around 10:30 p.m., a suspect entered a Subway restaurant in the 2000 block of Portage Avenue and asked to use the bathroom, police said.

Moments later, the employee heard a noise coming from the front counter area and saw the suspect behind the front counter removing cash from the till. The suspect then began to walk away. The employee followed, and the suspect pushed the employee, 19-year-old man, and fled the area on foot, officers said.

The victim was not injured and no weapons were involved.

The suspect in this robbery is also described as a white man, about six feet (182 centimetres) in height. He has a large or medium build with short dark hair and a moustache, police said.

Shortly after midnight, officers were called to a Tim Horton's restaurant in the 1000 block of Portage Avenue while a robbery was in progress.

A male suspect entered the business, confronted an employee and demanded that the till be opened. The armed suspect became increasingly aggressive and proceeded to strike the till several times with a knife, police said.

The 21-year-old male victim gave the suspect cash and the suspect fled the area on foot. Before fleeing, the suspect damaged a chair by striking it with the knife, police said.

Despite the efforts police, including the canine unit, the suspect escaped.

The suspect in this robbery is described as male, aboriginal in appearance and with a skinny build.
