Charges have been laid against a suspect in the murder of 16-year-old Cameron Walker.

Police also announced the identity of the victim, Cameron Walker, on Sunday. He was stabbed to death in the Fort Richmond area of Winnipeg on Friday night, police said.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Allegheny Drive around 11:30 p.m.

Police said Walker, got into an argument with several people in a home in the area and then went outside. A 28-year-old man followed him. Then, the victim was stabbed, said police.

He was taken to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

The 28-year-old suspect is in police custody, police said.

Matthew Craig Krasny is facing second-degree murder charges, police said on Sunday morning.

Officers are continuing to investigate.
