A young Winnipeg girl has caught the attention of music star Lady Gaga.

On her Twitter account, Lady Gaga tweeted about watching a YouTube video of 10-year-old Maria Aragon singing one of Gaga's songs.

"Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. This girl is the future," said the post.

Lady Gaga has more than eight million followers on Twitter.

Aragon said she didn't expect the attention the video has attacted.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton picked up on the video first, followed by Lady Gaga and now Ellen DeGeneres has as well.

"Everybody wants to be on Ellen…who doesn't want to meet Ellen?" asked Aragon.

The young singer sang live on Winnipeg radio on Thursday.

"My dream is to be a singer or a musician. I want to play different instruments and sing too," said Aragon.

After her video was posted on Feb. 16, it has received more than 200,000 hits.
