Police released new and different details to the public Sunday about the ongoing investigation into the murder of 73-year-old Elizabeth Lafantaisie.

Officers are making a public plea for witnesses who may have seen the victim's car being washed. Police released a crime-scene photo of the car on Sunday and are now saying the car is a blue-grey, four-door 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. Police originally released a photo of a car that was similar to Lafantaisie's vehicle and described her car as being green. Police also released the licence plate number of her vehicle: ERR 153.

Anyone who saw the car being washed between Friday, Feb. 18 and Tuesday, Feb. 22 is asked to contact police. Originally, police had asked witnesses who saw that type of car being washed on Feb. 18 to come forward.

The car was found on Feb. 24 on Lewis Street, in the Osborne Village area. CTV News has learned Lafantaisie's body was found wrapped in some type of tarp in the trunk of her vehicle.

Investigators are also appealing to the public for anyone who may be able to report the date, or time the vehicle was parked on Lewis Street, or anyone who may have seen individuals in possession of or connected to this vehicle.

Investigators can be reached at 986-6508 or through Crime Stoppers at 786-8477.
