A Charlie Sheen-based website by a Winnipegger has gone viral and attracted widespread attention.
Jarrett Moffatt and a friend started a website, www.livethesheendream.com, highlighting the most outrageous comments made by the celebrity Sheen and offering to put them on t-shirts.
"I'm in branding. I'm in advertising. I just wanted to see how you can send something viral without spending any money," said Moffatt.
For $14, the website was set up on Feb. 26.
Since then, it's attracted more than eight million views, including being viewed and approved by Sheen himself recently. Moffatt has also been getting interview requests from media all over Canada and the U.S.
"I was in the U.S.A. Today today. That was cool. The Atlantic just contacted me...I just talked to (the) Boston Herald," he said.
Moffatt said he is also having mixed feelings about the website's popularity, with recent developments in Sheen's situation.
"I think he has some (child) custody issues today so I kind of feel conflicted because he's kind of going through a rough time," said Moffatt.
By 4 p.m. Wednesday, Moffatt's website had crashed from the high volume of people going to it. Moffatt said he planned to have it up and running again as soon as he can.
