A second suspect has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of a man in downtown Winnipeg two weeks ago.

Officers previously arrested and charged a 16-year-old male suspect with second-degree murder.

The stabbing happened near a bus stop on Vaughan Street, near Portage Avenue, around 9 p.m. on March 16, said police.

A 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were confronted by an armed suspect. Both victims were stabbed in the upper body, said police.

Abdul Rahim Mah Jemei, 22, was taken to hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries, said officers. The 19-year-old victim was treated and released.

On March 29, a search was carried out at a residence in the 500 block of Langside Street and an adult male suspect was taken into custody.

Ramsey Swain, 24, faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder and assault with a weapon, said police.
