TORONTO - Maria Aragon, the 10-year-old who has played alongside Lady Gaga and the prime minister, is now up for another honour.

The Winnipeg native is nominated for Best Fan Cover on MTV's new O Music Awards.

The new Web-based awards show is a celebration of digital music and other categories include most viral dance and best music hashtag meme.

Lady Gaga and rapper Tyler the Creator are nominees for most innovative artist and must-follow artist on Twitter.

Lady Gaga is also up for favourite animated GIF, a kind of avatar.

Winners will be decided by fan voting in social media, with the results shown in real-time. The awards will be presented in a live hour-long webcast April 28 on MTV websites and mobile apps.

Not surprisingly, Maria is not the only Canadian -- Arcade Fire and Justin Bieber are also nominated.

Maria shot to fame on YouTube singing Lady Gaga's "Born this Way."

The diva then invited Aragon to her Toronto show after seeing her video.

A campaigning Stephen Harper dropped by Maria's home and played John Lennon's "Imagine."
