A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing death of a man in Winnipeg Tuesday night.

Officers were called around 9:20 p.m. to a residence in the 200 block of Austin Street North in the Point Douglas area.

A man was found dead inside. Police initially treated the death as suspicious.

An autopsy later determined the victim died from multiple stab wounds to the lower body.

Officers identified the victim as Solomon Joseph Andrew Turner, 46.

An investigation determined the victim and another male were involved in an argument.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation and the victim was stabbed, said officers.

The suspect then fled the residence.

On Wednesday, Lloyd Alfred Lindsay, 48, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, said police.
