The province announced a $22 million plan to revamp Birds Hill Provincial Park over the next five years.

One hundred new full-service campsites, modern washrooms and new play areas will be added, said officials.

The beach will also be expanded and a new visitor centre will be constructed.

"We know how much Manitobans love getting outdoors to relax and enjoy our fantastic summers and these improvements will allow more families to have an even better experience at the park," said Premier Greg Selinger.

The province said an estimated 730,000 people visit Birds Hill Park every year, making it the busiest park in the provincial park system. As part of the $22 million plan, roadways and other buildings will also be upgraded.
