Winnipeg police said the death of a 31-year-old woman is now being investigated as a homicide case.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Redwood Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police located the body of a woman and began investigating the death as suspicious, before announcing Wednesday the case was being treated as a homicide.
Officers said the woman had upper body injuries, consistent with having been assaulted.
An autopsy has not yet been conducted.
Police identified the victim as Cara Lynn Hiebert, 31, of Winnipeg.
Members of the homicide unit continue to investigate.
