Two teenage girls face charges for the death of Roberta Dawn McIvor, 32, on Sandy Bay First Nation.

Her body was found along a road at the end of July. Family members at the time said she had been decapitated.

On Tuesday, RCMP released more details from the investigation, which involved multiple RCMP units and the Dakota Ojibway Police Service.

Officers said the victim's vehicle was stolen on July 30 while she was sleeping in it.

"The victim was removed from the vehicle and was fatally injured when the vehicle drove away," said RCMP in a press release.

Police said a 17-year-old female suspect and a 15-year-old female suspect have both been charged with manslaughter.

RCMP said no further arrests are pending.
