A 19-year-old suspect has been charged following the death of a man on the weekend.

Officers were called to the area of Isabel Street and Ross Avenue around 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 21 for a report of a fight.

An injured male was located and rushed to hospital in critical condition. He later died from injuries.

Police identified the victim as Tim Koostachin, 30.

An investigation determined the victim and a male suspect, who did not know each other, had been socializing with a group at a residence in the 400 block of Elgin Avenue.

The two men got into a verbal dispute and a fight broke out, said police.

The group left the residence and the two men continued fighting. The victim was struck in the upper body and fell down, hitting his head on the ground, said police.

On Tuesday morning, officers announced that charges had been laid.

Ray Vaughn Munro, 19, has been charged with manslaughter, said police.
