RCMP officers are urging Winnipeg Jets fans to be patient and wait for official Winnipeg Jets jerseys after it seized 40 counterfeit jerseys.
On August 21, RCMP Federal Enforecement Section with Canada Border Services Agency seized a shipment of the fake jerseys. RCMP say the estimated retail value is $12,000.
The investigation continues. Charges have not been laid at this point, according to RCMP. Charges are being considered, however, under the Copyright Act and the Trademark and Textile Act.
RCMP advise people to buy any team products through authorized dealers.
