Winnipeg police said a suspect is facing impaired driving charges after a car smashed into six vehicles on Sept. 13.

Officers were called to the intersection of Bishop Grandin Boulevard and Waverley Street around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police located multiple damaged vehicles.

A 50-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man were taken to hospital in stable condition with minor injuries, said police.

Police said a male suspect driving a Mazda 6 was headed southbound on Waverley near Bishop Grandin when the vehicle crossed the median and all lanes of traffic.

The Mazda hit a pickup truck and continued to cross Waverley, hitting five other vehicles, said police.

Three of the vehicles involved in the collisions were towed from the scene while the remaining cars received minor damage.

A 58-year-old male suspect from Winnipeg faces charges for impaired driving and drive over .08, said police.
