A  bus transporting students crashed into a fence near a house in Winnipeg on Wednesday afternoon. None of the students were injured.

The incident was reported around 4:30 p.m. near Waverley Street and Mathers Avenue in South River Heights.

At least 20 students from St. John's-Ravenscourt School were on the bus.

"I was just sitting on the bus listening to my iPod and then I felt that we weren't on the road anymore," said Zoe Haber, a student. "And I noticed that we were going onto a sidewalk, into someone's house and we hit the fence. And we all jumped up and we noticed our bus driver had fallen off his seat and was throwing up and we turned him onto his side."

Bystanders also came into the bus to help out.

"We called 911 and they came and they were working on him for about 20 minutes. We're just hoping everything is okay," said Haber.

The school said the bus service is contracted out to Beaver Bus Lines and the driver has been with the company for many years. Some of the students said the man has been driving the bus for them since they were little kids.

The school said they'll be providing counseling for students Thursday.

Police advised around 5 p.m. Wednesday that Waverley between Taylor and Grant was closed while crews responded. Around 6:15 p.m., police said the road was re-opened.

There was no word early Wednesday evening on the condition of the bus driver.
