The race is on between 10 candidates hoping to become Winnipeg's next city councilor.

Candidate nominations in the city's by-election were announced Friday for the vacant St. Vital seat. The position opened up at the end of August when Gord Steeves resigned to run in the provincial election.

Among those vying for the empty seat is Greg Nordman, brother of St. Charles Ward Councilor Grant Nordman. Also on the ballot: Mike Ducharme, Marty Green, Steven Hennessey, Hammad Khan, Brian Mayes, Carl Osato, Terry Wachniak, Beverley Watson and Harry Wolbert.

St. Vital residents will also cast votes for school trustees in the Winnipeg School Division and the Louis Riel School Division.

Voters head to the polls on Saturday, November 26.
