The City of Winnipeg said testing of the new 3.6 km rapid transit corridor is underway, with buses approaching speeds of 80 km/h on it.
City officials said the public should stay on rights-of-way next to the corridor and advised people to stay off the transit-way.
The southwest rapid transit corridor is slated to open for public transit on Apr. 8, 2012.
