A Winnipeg Transit bus driver has been charged for a collision in December that injured a pedestrian.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, 2011 police were called to a collision on the Chief Peguis Trail, west of Henderson Highway. An 84-year-old pedestrian was rushed to hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable.

Police said an investigation has since determined that the man had been a passenger on the bus, and was injured as he exited the vehicle at a bus stop.

The 42-year-old male bus driver has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, said police.
