Police say a 24-year-old man is facing charges after a car was stolen from the Garden City area.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, patrolling officers saw the stolen 2004 Hyundai Sonata in the area of McPhillips Street and Mountain Avenue. Police say the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled at high speeds, crashed with another car and then ran away.

Police say the two people in the other car were slightly injured.

The Canine Unit and Uniform Patrol members tracked down and arrested the four suspects who fled following the crash.

A 24-year-old man is now facing several charges including: motor vehicle theft over $5000.00, impaired driving, flight from a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, three counts of breaching probation and several highway traffic act offences.

A 23-year-old woman is facing a charge of breaching her probation.

Police say a 19-year-old man and 20-year-old man were also arrested on unrelated matters.
