VANCOUVER - The first of a series of protests planned across Canada to protest the robocall scandal is underway in downtown Vancouver.
Members of Parliament joined union leaders and other protesters for today's protest through downtown streets.
Many of the demonstrators carried Canadian flags, and at least one of those flags was flown upside down.
New Democrat MP Libby Davies and Adrienne Carr, a candidate for the Green Party in the last election, called for a public inquiry into the issue.
Another protest is planned for Monday in Ottawa and several others are set for next weekend.
Elections Canada said Friday it was investigating more than 31,000 reports about robocalls during the May federal election campaign.
The agency says complaints have been pouring in over the last few weeks after was revealed it was investigating an incident in Guelph, Ont., of voters being told to go to polls that didn't exist.
