Officials said part of a construction site fell apart in Winnipeg Wednesday, leading to nearby road lanes being closed.

A section of shoring for the new Women's Hospital partially collapsed and caused some damage to nearby Sherbrook Street, said Health Sciences Centre officials.

No injuries were reported.

Two west lanes on Sherbrook Street between Elgin Avenue and William Avenue were closed on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 6 p.m., city officials said Sherbrook Street had been closed to all northbound and southbound traffic between Elgin and William until approximately March 27.

A detour will be in place.

It's believed Monday night's storm and rain contributed to the weakening of the construction site structure, said HSC officials.
